Students in grades 3 to 5 use one-to-one iPads, while in PK to grade 2, technology is used selectively.
At Cotopaxi, we are committed to serving students with a wide range of learning needs through a collaborative approach that includes the students, parents and professionals. Student Support Teams consist of learning specialists, counselors, teachers, English language learning specialists and administrators who work together in collaboration with parents to support each student’s education. These teams focus on fostering the academic and socio-emotional growth of students and collaborate with external specialists as necessary.
Academia Cotopaxi has adopted the International Baccalaureate’s definition of inclusion and implements it in its Approaches to Teaching and Approaches to Learning.

We provide a robust, transdisciplinary program designed to develop the academic, social, artistic, athletic, and interpersonal skills of diverse international students. The skills and professionalism of our teachers, along with differentiated practices, enable us to tailor our program to meet the unique needs of our learners.
Academia Cotopaxi (AC) offers a wide range of extracurricular activities for elementary students including athletic development in our competitive sports disciplines led by nationally renowned coaches. These programs have an associated cost. Other activities are free of charge and cover various disciplines and student interests, some of which follow a progression of development and skill acquisition taught and/or supervised by school teachers and take place after school hours.

Academia Cotopaxi (AC) offers a full sports program including competitive teams for soccer, swimming, volleyball, and basketball. Students of all athletic levels are encouraged to participate on our teams. Non-athletic clubs are teacher-led and meet during the school day as well as after school. Activities such as Model United Nations, Math Club, and National Junior Honor Society provide opportunities for students to engage with other local schools and the community as well as the possibility to travel outside of Quito to attend events and competitions.
In our Middle School, students bring their own laptops, enabling personalized learning and continuous access to digital resources. We have two Maker Space design labs where creativity and innovation are promoted through hands-on engagement with a wide range of technologies. Additionally, our Robotics and Coding program equips students with advanced technical skills and encourages creative problem-solving.

We provide a challenging and supportive academic experience, ensuring our students are ready for high school and beyond. We complement our academics with a strong Social and Emotional Learning program catered to the unique needs of adolescents. A sense of community is emphasized through our Houses program, where school spirit and community efforts bring everyone together to help our community thrive.
Academia Cotopaxi (AC) offers a variety of extracurricular activities for middle school students, including a sports program similar to feeder programs in our competitive disciplines. These programs are led by nationally renowned coaches and incur an additional cost. Other free activities cover various disciplines, some of which follow a progression or development and skill. These include Model United Nations, Math Club, Junior National Honor Society providing students with opportunities to interact with other local schools and participate in events and competitions outside of Quito. Clubs are led by school teachers and meet after classes.
Additionally, student-led clubs, supervised by teachers take place during the school day.

We provide a challenging and supportive academic experience ensuring our students are ready for university, careers and life beyond school. Beginning in 9th grade students are encouraged to consider their goals and choose a pathway to graduation that best meets their needs culminating in an International Baccalaureate Diploma, Ecuadorian Diploma or US Diploma. Sense of community is emphasized through our student-led clubs, athletics, National Honor Society, Model United Nations, and many other opportunities that foster school spirit and community engagement both within and beyond the school. Every student at AC belongs and has an opportunity to pursue their passions and take leadership.
