Inviting you to check SeeSaw again...
I am including this again in our newsletter as the opportunities have multiplied for you to learn about your child’s progress and engage in the learning that happens in and outside of the classroom. Your genuine interest in your child’s learning has a direct impact in your child’s attitudes and behaviors around learning. We invite you to continue to engage in conversations about what your child is learning and how they acquire new understandings. Teachers are posting many examples on SeeSaw and you are encouraged to comment on your child’s portfolio. Children enjoy reading parents’ comments and grow from this experience. Some parents send voice notes and children love this! They get very excited when they know that you have seen and/or read their post.
At the end of the week, you will receive a notification indicating that your child’s progress report has been uploaded to the SeeSaw account. Please note that the progress report is written to the child by the homeroom teacher, Spanish teacher, and ELL or Learning Support for those who receive those services. For Music, Art, and PE a general comment is included and you are encouraged to stop by to see those teachers during conferences. Personal comments for those subjects are included in the report card for both semester 1 and semester 2.
I would also like to remind you that the dress code is not optional. We have sent several reminders to parents and know that you will support us so that all children follow this guideline in our school. Following school guidelines teaches students responsibility and is an important attitude for all learners.
A few weeks ago we hosted the Visiting Team of the IBO, who had an opportunity share with our students, teachers, parents, board, etc. This is the second step of the IBO re-authorization process, which happens every 5 years. At the end of their visit they celebrated our school for successfully implementing Student-Centered Inquiry throughout the PYP!
