The high school formally invites you to attend the 2018 20time Showcase on Tuesday, May 29th from 4:30p.m. to 7:00p.m.  The 20time Project is a year long project where students spend 20% of their time in English class pursuing a personal passion.  This year, we have students who have built their own go-kart, written and recorded their own music, created their own art, designed their own websites, and raised funds to support local charities.  Come to this exciting event and learn more about what innovative projects our students have been working on this past school year! Opening remarks begin at 4:30 in the Auditorium; a potluck reception will follow student speeches at 6:30 p.m.

You are invited to join us on Wednesday, May 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium, where the Board of Trustees will hold the Annual General Assembly. This is a unique opportunity for all parents and all staff, when the Board of Trustees and the School Director present the latest highlights and data about our school’s achievements and developments. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our school together! Please join us!

Counseling Corner
There have been many great programs and opportunities lately for our high school community. We completed the “Baby, Think it Over” teen pregnancy-prevention and health education program. It was great to see our students take on this responsibility with grace and commitment and reflect together on their goals and life choices. Thank you to all of the 10th grade families for your collaboration!

This past week all of our 9th grade students participated in a series of lessons with the counselor on mindfulness and stress management. Also, our 9th,10th, and 11th graders participated in a bullying prevention lesson in their mentor classes focused on being “upstanding.”

On Monday May 21st our 8th-11th grade students will attend a substance use prevention presentation coordinated through the U.S. Embassy and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

IB Corner
Our Juniors are working on their Group 4 project this week. Group 4 is a required, collaborative IB Science project.

It is still time for the Seniors to ask me to send their IB results directly to their Universities and Colleges.
