Sam Craytor, Counselor Grades 2-5
Sam joined Academia Cotopaxi as an Elementary School Counselor for grades 2-5 in August, 2018. Born and raised in Oregon, Sam earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Portland State University and his Masters degree in Counseling from Lewis and Clark College. Sam has been working in education as both a school counselor and as a school social worker for just over 10 years. During his free time, Sam enjoys all things soccer (coaching, playing, watching). As the guidance counselor, Sam provides guidance lessons on a wide range of topics to include: respect, building community, relationship skills, conflict resolution, anti-bullying, social awareness, growth mindset, etc. He also finds time to meet with students individually to talk about concerns they are having, visits with students out on the playground, and invites students to come and have lunch with me from time to time.
