Congratulations Class of 2019

Celebrations and happenings - 2nd week of school

We had a great first week of school.   In each of our classrooms, students are joyfully engaged.  Children and staff are enjoying the beautiful connections that are being made as relationships strengthen. You have probably heard stories at home about learning and friendships and teacher's names may be common at your dinner table.  I shared a story with our teachers this week, as I thanked them for having chosen to teach and impact the life of each of our students.  I invite you to access this link and read "Why I hated Meredith's first grade teacher" as well.  My gratitude goes out to you for sharing your children with us!

Mission and Culture in the Middle School

School year 2017-18 is off to a phenomenal start in the Middle School! Everyone is energized by our new MS division and delighted to be part of the Academia Cotopaxi mission. All students and teachers spent time on the first day of school interacting with the school’s mission statement. I encourage you to read it and talk to your child about what his/her group did to enact their part of the statement. The mission statement is at the foundation of everything we do and will guide us as we build a cohesive MS culture.
An enormous THANK YOU to everyone who registered and paid for Discover Ecuador! We only have a few missing families, which is a big gain over last year. Please take the time to carefully look at the packing list and itinerary sent home in my earlier communication. All students are responsible to bring EVERYTHING on the packing list. We are very excited for this week of experiential learning!
Athletics update from JJ Fuentes:
AC Swimming Club will begin their practices on August 28. Practices will run from 6:00am to 7:30am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

MS Volleyball will begin practices on the week of September 4. Practices will run from 3:10 to 4:10 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Everyone is welcome regardless of prior experience. Cougar Athletics is an all inclusive program where learning, performing and competing have equal value.

Upcoming MS Events:
  • September 7: MS Back to School Night, 6:00 - 8:00pm
  • September 11 - 15: Discover Ecuador

I have enjoyed meeting many of you on campus and look forward to the opportunity for continued interactions.

With kind regards,
