The end of the school year is a time to celebrate a year of learning and a year of student development. We have all seen profound changes in your children over the course of this year, which is to be expected for Middle School students. It has been a joy to get to know them, and you, as we have spent the year building the AC Middle School.
We have many events over the next two weeks. Here they are, at a glance, to help with your planning:
Friday, June 8: MS Social from 6:00 - 8:00pm in the Gym. All students are welcome, and while students may choose to “dress up” for this Social, no special attire is required.
Monday, June 11: Class awards will be presented during Cougar Time, 10:50 - 11:50 in the auditorium. If your child is receiving an award, you have been, or will soon be, notified.
Tuesday, June 12: Field Day from 1:30 - 3:00.
Wednesday, June 13: Grade 8 Moving On Celebration and Reception. Celebration from 1:00 - 3:00 in the auditorium, reception from 3:00 - 4:30 in the Lower School Cafeteria. Details will be emailed to Grade 8 parents. We will also be giving the Presidential awards and other special awards during the Moving On Celebration. If your child is receiving an award, you have been, or will soon be, notified.
Thursday, June 14: Grade 8 students will spend most of the day in the High School, learning about their Grade 9 classes.
Friday, June 15: Last day of school - dismissal at 12:00 noon.
On the horizon…….Middle School Discover Ecuador will take place from September 24 - 28, 2018. Please mark your calendars for a parent meeting on August 28th, in the evening. An email to each grade level with trip costs, due dates, and packing list will be sent before the end of the school year.
We are all looking forward to the final two weeks! Please help ensure a successful end of the school year by reinforcing home routines, especially sleep and nutrition.
With kind regards,
